Thistle Island Candle Company is a small-batch home fragrance brand, rooted on the Fife coast. From our workshop in East Wemyss, we hand pour every candle, wax melt and reed diffuser, taking time over each one and letting the process guide us.

The story began in 2020, when founder Joanne started making candles at her kitchen worktop. What began as a quiet creative outlet soon grew into a wee candle and gift shop in Kirkcaldy, where shelves were filled with warm scents and familiar favourites, and where the brand found its feet within the local community.

Today, Thistle Island Candle Company has come full circle. We’ve returned to the heart of what we love most — small-batch pouring, thoughtful fragrance, and products made slowly and with care. Inspired by coastal air, simple comforts and everyday rituals, our home fragrance is designed to bring a sense of calm, warmth and welcome into your space.

Every piece we make reflects our belief that the cosiest moments are often the simplest ones — a flickering flame, a familiar scent, and a little time to pause.
